We made it to Friday! I am so excited for a few adventures coming up in the next few weeks, so thanks for following along :). I will give you a hint of what my upcoming adventures include: an ocean, flowers, and more flowers. Oh yes. As you can tell I have been on the floral fashion train because I cannot stop talking about them. I found my top on sale from Anthropologie and I thought it was perfect to wear in the city because it is long sleeved but still bright and cheery (writing this as I wore all black today…). I paired it with my jeans from Zara that are so comfy (and they are high rise!) and my bright pink M. Gemi flats. Anthro usually has a few great pieces on sale when I check out their site or in store (and make sure to grab some Voluspa candles while you’re at it) so make sure to take a peek.
I hope you enjoy your time with family and friends this weekend for Easter! And don’t stay at work too late today.. Happy Friday!

I am so excited to share my travel guide while I was in New York City. One of the many hot spots I checked out was Brooklyn and I was pleasantly surprised during my time there. I always thought of Brooklyn as a beaten up part of New York City- almost a place where people don’t want to be associated with. I was very much so wrong as it is a youthful and vibrant place where I think many people enjoy the fact that they can get away from the rush of Manhattan. Brooklyn reminded me of a cross between Balboa island in Newport Beach, CA and the Wicker Park neighborhood in Chicago. It has a bunch of both mom and pop shops and trendy stores that attract millennial New Yorkers.
Tina, Brian and I took the subway over to Brooklyn (we went through a underwater tunnel.. woah!) and ventured around Williamsburg neighborhood. We started off by going to The End where I found the beautifully crafted Unicorn Latte. It is noted as a vegan wellness latte with a bunch of different ingredients that are all natural (think beetroot and blue algae). And yes, even the sprinkles are vegan. Their drinks are aesthetically pleasing and taste as good as they look. If I could have tried every drink I would have, but I guess it just means I will have to go back soon.
On our walk to East River State Park, there were the cutest streets and wall art I had to snap a few pictures.. Tina joined in on the fun too.
Afterwards, we ventured to East River State Park where some of the best views of the city are. If you want to feel how it is to be “on the outside looking in,” this is the place to go. It was a perfect day to be outside and take in the breath taking views of the city. I had fun dressing up for the day, as a New Yorker does, and wore a simple neck scarf with a sweater and my black ripped jeans. I bought my shoes from DSW and they helped me get through all my walking while I was in NYC. Tina and I averaged walking about 6.5 miles a day.. compare that to my average of 1.5-2 miles (without exercise) in Chicago. I was so excited to be adventuring the streets of Brooklyn with my friends. We ended the day going for cocktails at Wythe Hotel and grabbed a bite to eat at a restaurant we randomly came across with the best crispy chicken burger at Allswell. Hanging out in Brooklyn is on my top 5 things to do when it comes to traveling to NYC. Also a part of my travel guide is to learn a little more about the NYC neighborhoods and find all its hidden gems.

I did it!! I found some color to wear and the lovely color of choice turned out to be red! There were so many sales going on before Christmas who would have thought?! Banana Republic was 40% everything in store, Express was 50% off everything in store, and sales on sales on sales galore. I picked up a gray scarf and blue sweater for the boyfriend from Banana Republic. Again, I bought it at 40% off and he loved the thickness of the scarf and the blue sweater for layering on top of a printed button down.
I found this top at one of my favorite little boutiques, the Daisy Shoppe in Brea, California. It is so tasteful and flattering with the off the shoulder cut, and you can never go wrong with lace. While I was in California, Al was soaking up the rays in Florida so more to come about her holiday outfits from the east coast!
The skirt I found for $15 at Express on sale! It had a matching white crop top too but I loved the mesh detail on the skirt alone and you can wear it for a California winter or in the summer for a fun brunch with wedges.
Some of my favorite sales at the moment include:
Of course I had to snap a cute photo of the boyfriend and I since it’s mandatory on Christmas! I hope you had a lovely Christmas and are as excited as I am to ring in the new year!

Fall is my favorite time of year and I love the more earthy and neutral colors to layer and play around with when it comes to choosing my outfit for the day! I am one to get super warm super fast- so I usually go with a scarf, top, and heavier coat if needed. By the time I get to the L you would think I was just leaving the gym. So simple layers are my preference – throw in a pop of color and you are set for the day!
One thing I love about this sweater by Topshop @ Nordstrom is the unique cuts and colors. I like to wear this sweater during the day but Topshop has an array of sweaters that can easily transition from day into night! Throw in a chunky heel, loose the hat and give the hair a quick tease and bam. Wine night with the gals is ready to go.

There really aren’t a lot of things better than a piece of clothing that makes you look and feel your best. With a change of clothes, my day can take a turn for the better. During the summer, that means rotating my favorite sun dresses day to day for a polished but easy look. Luckily, there is never a shortage of updated styles for a fresh new look.
I am not a fan of changing outfits multiple times in one day, so if I can get away with wearing the same thing to go meet friends for dinner or grab drinks with my boyfriend, I will. The key to taking a dress from day to night, are your accessories. Pair a dress during the day with white Birkenstocks, and switch it up at night with a pair of nude wedges.
I found the perfect day to night dress while in Georgia, at Lily Pulitzer. I opted for the dark blue version to stay simple, but it also comes in hot pink. The fabric is very light and won’t feel heavy in the heat. The slip is a little bit shorter than the lace material on the outside, showing a little bit of leg at the end.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of being in LA. While it might have been the three craziest days of my life, every second counted and I could not have been happier. I took selfies with Eva Chen (multiple times,) was called by my blog name and it wasn’t weird, and chatted with some of the coolest people in the industry. Here are some of my favorite style snapshots from the Lucky Magazine Editor’s brunch that I was lucky enough to attend!

According to me, spring and summer are all about bright colors, flowing sun dresses, and over sized oxfords thrown on with shorts and leather sandals. J.Crew seems to be on the same brain wave as I am, because I could live in their whole collection once the warm weather rolls around and be completely happy. One thing that I love about J.Crew, is the quality. While it might be pricey at times, I still wear the pieces that I have from them three years ago, and mix and match them with my recent purchases. These are the pieces that I’ll be working into my spring and summer wardrobe as soon as it hits 60 degrees:
