The never ending cloudy skies and rain in Chicago is having me dream of summer dresses, high waisted everything, wedges and jumpsuits to wear out and about the city. I recently made a mini list of restaurants and bars I want to try and I thought I would share, along with a cute jumpsuit by Ellie Kai that I can wear out to these new hot spots. This classy jumpsuit is not only perfect for just about any night out, but it is so comfortable too. Be sure to check out all of Ellie Kai’s cute outfits on their website. I love that everything is made to order and they have so many patterns to choose from!
Anyways, tell me what places I am missing! They don’t have to be brand new- I just have a thing for supporting new businesses in the city.

The chic booths and savvy light fixtures speak to me. On top of this photo worthy restaurant, the menu contains everything delicious. Whether it is a date night or grabbing a drink with a friend, I cannot wait to stop by this charming restaurant.
I love seeing the transformation of restaurant row in West Loop. This industrial community is bringing every kind of cuisine and La Josie is sure to be a hit. Not to mention this Mexican restaurant has a roof deck. Summer just got that much better.
I know. I haven’t been to Violet Hour. I’m just as shocked as you are. The artisanal cocktail menu and hidden appeal with no signs outside is the perfect addition to the Wicker Park community. I love that you can escape the grunge and artsy part of town and toast to a cocktail at Violet Hour. I will be stopping in soon!
Another place that has been on my list, especially for brunch. No wonder it’s almost famous with it’s extensive brunch menu and bottomless mimosa deal. $35 buffet and $15 mimosas? Yes and yes.
Located atop the Robey Chicago in Wicker Park brings stunning city views as the perfect beginning or end to any night. The Robey Chicago is a trendy hotel in Wicker that actually used to be an office building. Did I mention Up and Up has a terrace? You’re welcome.
The sunshine is close. I can feel it.

Much to people’s disbelief, date night and staying fashionable can go hand in hand. As a self professed man repeller, I love my Birkenstocks and boxy oxfords as much as the next fashionista, but sometimes have to hang them back up in the closet. My go to date night look has become a matching crop top/skirt combo, or throwing on a midi skirt. You can get the look too without sacrificing your savings, or your personal style.

Today, Streetstylechi gets a little personal. Valentine’s day 2014. My boyfriend insisted on keeping our plans for the night as a surprise, so hand in hand, we trotted through the snow into the unknown; which turned out to be a food and wine pairing at Pastoral, our favorite neighborhood spot. Already giddy from the romantic atmosphere and perfect dinner, I told him about how every Valentine’s day, my father would get me a box of Godiva chocolate covered strawberries. A huge smile spread across his face. When we got home, a big box of Godiva strawberries magically appeared out of the fridge. I immediately ate three, and thought about how lucky I was.
Godiva has always had a very soft spot in my heart. Every Valentine’s day, my dad would always bring home the heftiest box of chocolates he could, and strawberries just for me. When my family would make trips to OakBrook mall, you can bet on anything that we made a stop at the Godiva store. This is how I discovered the Trufflelata, a fresh twist on a frozen shake that has a GODIVA truffle in every sip, and a premium Belgian Soft Serve. So, basically this is heaven in a cup.
No time for lunch before class? Clearly this is a great excuse to eat Godiva’s soft serve as a meal, my personal favorite being the chocolate.
With this being said, all of these chocolate splurges can get pricey, which is why I would take advantage of the Godiva happy hour. This is also why you should enter the Date With Godiva contest for a chance to win one of five, $25 gift cards. Simply comment on this post answering the question; “What was your most memorable summer fling?”
I will be picking my favorites, so show me what you’ve got! Good luck!
