Skincare: Bioderma

Lex here and with the weather rapidly changing in Chicago, I thought it was the perfect time to share some new skin care products I have been able to try. Enter Bioderma. I was able to try a few of their products, which compliments your personal skin type. Whether your skin is dehydrated, oily, or sensitive, Bioderma really has a product for anyone. The brand prides itself in finding the perfect in between when it comes to a laboratory and dermatology, and I can see why. See below for my thoughts on the products I was able to try!

Sensibio H2O wipes and Sensibio H2O

Both of these products are for sensitive skin. I love using the H20 wipes to remove my makeup before I work out at the gym. It takes off my makeup in a heartbeat and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. As for the H20 water, I only have to use a dab and the makeup around my eyes comes right off. Easy to use and it doesn’t make my eyes sting either! Winning.

Hydrabio Sérum

I love a good Serum. What is cool about this product is after you use it (before bed or in the morning), it doesn’t leave a sticky residue. I prefer to use this serum before I go to bed so it is the only thing on my face and my skin is getting the moisture it needs. Respect for a product that can help dry skin living in cold weather.

Sébium Pore Refiner

The one thing I will say about this product is it left my skin feeling rather dry when I used it only a few times a week. What I did notice though was it tightened and evened out my skin where I have blemishes. Being freckled, I do have a red spot here and there so I did see the pigmented color go down and smoothen out, even after just a few time using the product!

Sensibio Eye

We all need an eye cream that will help preserve our youth and avoid any sign of raccoon eyes. I woke up after using this for a few days with bright, tight skin and I didn’t look tired either. Some of you know I am not a morning person– so this sensitive eye cream is perfect for those who might not want to use a cream every night, but maybe 3-5 times a week to get us through the work week!

I really enjoyed all the different products, especially the sensitive skin and hydrating lines! Be sure to know your skin type before you go to purchase skin care products – and you don’t have to spend a fortune on them either! Bioderma is a quality skincare line for an affordable price.

Make sure to order Bioderma online and let me know how you like it!

XO.

Foreign Skincare Takes Off In The US

Skincare overseas, for example Korea and Japan, is serious business. It is a daily essential that involves many, many steps and is quite exhaustive. Yet, in the US, we are still trying to figure out what the wonder is behind Korean skincare. Beauty blogger Coco Park recently discovered Korean beauty care in her Korean-American boyfriends parents bathroom, and decided to check it out for herself. She went from using only a few products a day…to 17. On her blog, she says that she saw an immense difference in just three weeks, and her red spots and pores have essentially disappeared.

When you think about it, the invasion of Korean beauty products started a while ago. More specifically, in 2011 when companies started introducing the originally based Korean BB cream. BB cream is said to be an all in one product that will take care of the skin. Soon, American companies started producing their own versions, and we have BB creams, CC creams, and so on. As it turns out, this was just the Americanized version of Korean skincare because in the US, we like to keep things simple. In reality, we should also be scrubbing, moisturizing, cleansing, and treating.

Now that the beauty obsessed in the US are starting to reap the benefits of foreign beauty traditions, other interesting new treatments are starting to pop up. Two weeks ago, I got my monthly facial. I was surprised in my sleepy state of mind when something ice cold rolled around my face…under my eyes, down my nose, on my neck…it never seemed to stop. While reading Refinery29 this morning, I discovered that it was an ice roller. Essentially, this is a fancy substitute for throwing some spoons in the freezer. The ice roller can swiftly clean up the look of tired eyes, redness, puffiness, and minor bruising. My first question is…where do I get my hands on one?

Beauty In Review: YSL Temps Majeur Supreme Eye

When I was first sent this little white pot with YSL branded on the front, I was skeptical. A fashion house suddenly produces beauty products…since when? Little did I know what I was in for.

What is it:

A thick, creamy cream for the eye area.

What it does:

Reduces appearance of dark circles and puffiness.

Why I love it:

This eggshell colored cream is incredibly thick, and seeps into skin as soon as it makes contact. The results are amazing. This is YSL’s newest beauty product, and I hope we see more from this line. The silky texture glides onto your eye area with a sensation of comfort and nourishment while reducing the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. The area surrounding my eyes has looked less dull, and my under-eye puffiness has disappeared completely. Unlike a face mask or treatment, this cream requires zero effort, making it perfect for a quick morning and night beauty routine. I would not consider many beauty products miracles, but this is definitely a miracle in a jar.
