A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending the Mother of Pearl dinner at Taste Talks Chicago. Oysters and sparkling wine were the perfect way to celebrate the start of the weekend, and we enjoyed Island Creek Oysters and a wine pairing cocktail hour followed by a delectable multi-course sit down dinner with wine pairings at Kinmont. The organizers of Taste Talks could not have done a more phenomenal job, and I am already looking forward to next year. Seven different chefs from an assortment of restaurants throughout Chicago each prepared a dish. One was better than the next, and I left that night feeling very satisfied.
Green Tie Ball is one of the most celebrated charity events in Chicago all year. This year, the theme was “Great Gatsby,” and party goers embraced the theme with three piece suits and flapper dresses galore. Hosted by nonprofit organization Chicago Gateway Green, all of the funds went towards beautifying our city. Over 55 Chefs from participating restaurants including Fig & Olive, Gibsons, Nightwood, Sophie’s, and Yum Cha fed the hungry crowd. I would highly recommend attending next year.
