Make Me a…Model?

I recently attended an event hosted by Mario Tricoci at the Allerton Hotel downtown. The event included 50 contestants who were strutting the runway for seven final spots in the ‘Mario, Make Me A Model’ competition.

In order to be considered the models took to the runway displaying their walks to the judges. I loved seeing the different styles displayed, as the models were able to choose what they wanted to wear. The competition is Chicago exclusive, because Mario insists on having his models only come from Chicago. The program first started in 2008, and there have been over 2,000 contestants who have come to open model calls.

Many of the finalists have agreed that this contest has been a launching pad for their careers, even if they were just a runner up. You can vote for your favorite of the seven finalists, up until the Grand Finale Fashion Show on May 16th, being held at The Museum of Broadcast Communication.
