For those of you who do not know about Atelier Azza, it is a richly colored line consisting of intricate beading, gorgeous gowns, and jaw dropping, crystal encrusted jackets. Everything is done by hand, and this is one of the reasons why everything is only available via custom order for the time being, but Khan’s Spring collection will be available for order. Azeeza Khan makes her South Asian heritage prominent through the designs of her work, and uses silk prominent in India.
Not only is Atelier Azza beautiful to wear, it is doing good in our world. For each piece of her collection sold, a piece of clothing is given to an impoverished woman or child in South Asia.
I had the pleasure of seeing Azeeza Khan’s collection at the “Fashion takes Flight’ fashion show this past week. The dresses sway gorgeously, and you can tell just how much work must have gone into each one. My personal favorite is a long purple and gold beaded dress with a dropped waist.
