We are constantly on our phones. I know that my phone goes everywhere with me and I basically depend on it to do everything for me. Even with our smartphones doing so much for us, it only recently occurred to me that my phone could probably do other things than Snapchat (wsubach) and Angry Birds. So I decided to go on the hunt for the best and most useful fashion apps for iPhones that I could find. I really wasn’t disappointed.
Here are my top five apps:
1.     Pose: It’s beyond cool. You make an account, and after a quick questionnaire, it gets a feel for your style and automatically subscribes you to some streams. When you get to the homepage, it’s a mix of Instagram and Pinterest, but all fashion. You can upload your own pictures, browse through other photos, and comment on outfits you love. You can find quite a few well-known fashion bloggers and celebrities on here, so check it out. (And it’s also on Android.)
2.     Fashion Kaleidoscope: Sort of similar to Pose, but really awesome in the fact that when you browse uploaded photos of outfits, there’s a link to “shop the look”, which brings up similar clothing items at a variety of price points. It’s really good for inspiration, as well as shopping. (Also on Android.)
3.     Polyvore: Awesome app. You can search their product databases and create fashionable collages around a central theme or image. You can browse other collages as well as pick specific items for purchase. It really has a lot of items to choose from, so it’s amazing all around.
4.     Gilt: Gilt is known for its insane discounts on designer apparel. This app is a must have for any shopper on-the-go. It’s easy to use and is as fully functional as the website. The discounts are only for a limited time, so you definitely are going to want to check this often.
5.     Go Try It On: How often do you go to a store, try something on, and wish you had a second opinion? For me, all the time. Go Try It On lets you take a picture, upload it, and wait for users to weigh in on whether or not you should purchase it. It’s basically a best friend in an app.
