“What are you doing for New Years Eve?”
I have heard this question time and time again, and I am sure that you have too. While I may not be kissing anyone at midnight, I will be surrounded by close friends, and of course…dressed to kill. New Years is an excuse to go all out and look your best, so why not? I have searched high and low for some killer outfits you can whip out. You know every other girl is going to be in a tight sequin dress…make a daring move and go for something different. I love precious metals and leather booties, and will be incorporating those trends into my look. While sequins are still at the top of my list, I chose a few dresses that will stand out amongst others. Not a dress person? Pick a fun top that flatters your shape and run with it.
Going to the it party of Chicago? Considering that it’s fashion involved, you want to make a good impression. This is what you might catch me wearing on New Years. Good luck!

1. Haute Hippie Lace Metallic Legging
These leggings are a great alternative to jeans, and can be worn in multiple ways even after the New Year. Wear it with a loose white tank top, black lace bra, and leather booties for a laid back New Years Eve look.
2. Blaque Label Feather Party Dress
This is the quintessential New Years Eve dress. The bustier top adds a bit of sex appeal, but the feathers keep the dress playful and unique. Paid it with strappy heels and a tuxedo jacket.
3. Topshop Baroque Print Bodycon Dress
Personally, I love a great patterned dress. This one has gold trim to flatter curves, and a pattern to hide unsightly lumps. Gold foil booties would top this off.
4. Bailey 44 Faux Leather Window Pane Dress
Do not even get me started on this dress. There are endless ways to wear it. The leather is on trend for this season, but not over kill because of the paneling. Messy hair and platform booties would push this over the edge.
1. Parker Embellished Camisole Dress
Green can be an intimidating color to wear, but it’s one of my favorites. Not a lot of people pick this color so you will definitely stand out, in a good way. I love the unusual back on this. Go with simple accessories to not kill the look.
2. Gryphon Confetti Miniskirt
Sparkle is always fun, but in doses. The shoes this is already paired with are perfect, but I would put my own spin on this with a boyfriend style concert T-shirt. Tuck it in.
3. French Connection ‘Moonray’ V-Neck Colorblock Sequin Dress
While I am not an advocate of short sequin dresses, this one got me because of the cut. The sequin blocking will help accentuate a small waist and give you a nice hourglass shape.
4. Christina Karin Whitney
The unexpected ruffle adds drama to this playful dress. Throw on a pair of red pumps, and you’re ready to go.
1. Topshop Collar Tip Shirt
Lately, I am a large fan of the sheer oxford. It’s an unexpected touch to an outfit, and a great alternative to a tank top. Pair it with leather leggings for a house party, or a leather skirt for a night out.
2. Cotton Candy Couture Addison
This dress is uncommon and the color itself says it all. I own this dress, so I can personally vouch that it will look perfect on you. If I wear this on New Years, you’ll see me in classic black pumps, and a metallic clutch.
3. BDG Twig High-Rise Jean – Metallic Stripe
Metallic jeans are a huge trend right now, and I think it’s great. You can pair this with a peplum top, or dress these up with a black sequin top. I would not wear these with the cheetah print wedges as shown, but more of a strappy Mary-Jane pump.
4. Reformed By The Reformation Tsunami Dress
This dress has the potential to be very casual, so depending on how you want to look, you would have to be careful. You could pair it with black combat boots and a great cross body bag for a NYE spent with friends.
5. PARTY STARTED SEQUIN T-SHIRT
French Connection helped to dress the standard tshirt up. While this is not as formal as my other options, you could wear this wih skinny jeans and booties for an over all flattering look.
6. Topshop Big Gem Sweat
A sweatshirt? On New Years? YES. Pair this with a sequin skirt and wedges to dress it up. At least you’ll be comfortable all night.
What’s the best accessory for New Years…or…really…anytime? Your hair! I would visit Blowtique for an affordable, but fabulous service. Well done hair is the different between looking average, and taking over a room. Personally, I would go with “The Sunset-LA” which will give you a smooth, yet lightly tousled head of hair. Look out for a feature on them soon!
